The Heartlands Hosts Information Meeting on Planning Final Affairs

February 21, 2025

The Heartlands, an Aspire Senior Living Community, is hosting an Information Meeting on Planning Final Affairs on Thursday, March 6, at 6:00 PM in the Community Center at 6305 Bluewater Court, Marlette. This free event is open to the public and will provide valuable guidance on preparing for the future and easing the burden on loved ones.

Local funeral director Diane Reese will lead the discussion, offering insight into several important topics. She will explain how Social Security benefits work and what steps to take when handling them after a loved one’s passing. She will also discuss the importance of keeping bank information secure while ensuring it is accessible when needed. Additionally, she will cover the benefits of pre-writing an obituary, allowing individuals to ensure their story is told in their own way. The discussion will also address managing social media accounts after passing and how to plan for a digital presence. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers to help them navigate the planning process.

General information packets will be available, providing further resources to assist with planning final affairs. By taking proactive steps, individuals can make their wishes known and help ease the emotional and logistical challenges their families may face.

No registration is required to attend this event. For more information, please contact Diane at 989-635-3658. To stay informed on other events offered at The Heartlands, follow us on social media, or subscribe to our newsletter at theheartlandsmarlette.org.
