Aspire Rural Health System is proud to announce that its Marlette Emergency Room and Marlette Family Healthcare Clinic have been awarded the 2025 “Partner in Recovery” Award by the Sanilac County Community Mental Health (CMH) Board. This honor recognizes Aspire’s outstanding commitment to supporting mental health recovery and fostering a recovery-friendly environment in the community.
Aspire was chosen from among five nominated organizations for this distinguished recognition. The award celebrates individuals or organizations that have made a significant impact on mental health recovery, worked to reduce stigma, fostered inclusion, and served as exemplary partners to the public mental health system.
In nominating Aspire, Sanilac CMH staff highlighted the collaborative spirit and compassionate care consistently demonstrated by the Marlette ER and Family Healthcare Clinic teams. Aspire has welcomed Sanilac CMH into its facility, offering office space and strengthening access to services for individuals in need of mental health or substance use disorder treatment.
“Aspire has focused its vision and mission on providing whole health care,” said Sanilac CMH staff. “They continuously demonstrate compassion and are open to collaboration that effectively meets the needs of our community. Their emergency room and clinic staff are frequently praised by our team for their willingness to assist and their commitment to providing crisis mental health services.”
Key leaders Angie McConnachie and Shannon Swanson were recognized for their vital role in coordinating care and ensuring individuals receive comprehensive support.
Aspire were formally recognized at a Sanilac CMH Board meeting, with the award presentation on May 20, 2025.
“We are incredibly honored to receive this award,” said Angie McConnachie, Co-CEO at Aspire. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team to treating the whole person and building a healthier, more supportive community.”
