The Covenant Regional Thumb Network (CRTN), a collaborative effort of five independent hospitals in Michigan’s Thumb region, has announced the renaming of its cancer care facility located on the Marlette Regional Hospital campus of Aspire Rural Health System. The facility will now be known as the Covenant Cancer Care Center at Aspire Marlette.
The Covenant Cancer Care Center at Aspire Marlette will continue to provide comprehensive oncology services for patients throughout Michigan’s Thumb. Spanning 16,260 square feet, the center offers a range of critical cancer care services including medical oncology, chemotherapy infusion, and radiation oncology.
In 2023, the facility underwent extensive renovations to enhance its ability to serve patients, with new state-of-the-art equipment including an Elekta Versa HD Linear Accelerator and a CT scanner. The center also features eight chemotherapy infusion bays and an on-site pharmacy, designed to provide an all-encompassing, patient-centered experience.
The expert care team includes Dr. Houman Nourkeyhani (Medical Oncologist), Dr. James Fugazzi and Dr. Mark Zaki (Radiation Oncologists), along with Nurse Practitioner Lauren Hagarty.
The renaming marks another significant step in CRTN’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services in rural Michigan. All five hospitals—Deckerville Community Hospital, Harbor Beach Community Hospital, Hills & Dales Healthcare, Marlette Regional Hospital, and Scheurer Health—partnered with Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw to make quality cancer care a reality for patients in the Thumb.
