Kathleen Rochefort, MD

Dr. Kathleen Rochefort is a highly experienced and compassionate pediatrician who specializes in providing care for patients from newborns to age 21. Formerly practicing at Thumb Pediatrics in Cass City, Dr. Rochefort has moved her patient care to Bad Axe Family Healthcare in Bad Axe. With nearly a decade of experience in pediatrics, Dr. Rochefort offers a wide range of services, including wellness exams, sports physicals, sick visits, ADHD evaluations, immunizations, and more. Her dedication to preventive care ensures that her young patients grow into healthy and thriving adults.

Dr. Rochefort’s educational journey reflects her passion for pediatrics and excellence in healthcare. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. She completed her medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School and pursued a Pediatrics Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Additionally, she completed a Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins, equipping her with specialized knowledge in kidney diseases. Dr. Rochefort holds board certifications in General Pediatrics, Pediatric Nephrology, and Obesity Medicine.

From a young age, Dr. Rochefort knew she wanted to become a pediatrician, combining her love of children, science, and helping others. Her experiences in medical training and shadowing solidified her path. She admires the resilience and fearlessness of children, which inspire her daily. Whether it’s guiding a child through a medical challenge or witnessing a young patient’s growth and milestones, she finds immense fulfillment in her work.

Dr. Rochefort is excited to be part of Aspire Rural Health System, where she sees great vision and energy driving forward progress. The organization’s tagline, “Aspire for a healthier future,” resonates deeply with her goals as a pediatrician. She works to set children on a path toward long-term health and success, focusing on preventive care, development, and wellness from the earliest stages of life.

Outside of work, Dr. Rochefort resides in Bad Axe with her husband, Nick, and their two golden retrievers, Max and Mia. An avid runner, she completed her first marathon last year and enjoys participating in local 5Ks. She also enjoys biking, yoga, and pilates. As an assistant coach for the Bad Axe middle school cross-country team, she shares her passion for running with young athletes. A proud Swiftie, she hopes to attend a Taylor Swift concert in the future.

Looking ahead, Dr. Rochefort is eager to expand her services at Aspire, potentially offering pediatric weight management programs. Her dedication to her patients and the community underscores her commitment to helping children and families thrive.
