Dr. Sanjeev Kaul, MD, reached a significant milestone on August 10, 2026 when he performed his 100th Aquablation procedure at Aspire Marlette Regional Hospital. Kaul is one of only three surgeons in Michigan to have reached 100 Aquablation procedures.
Kaul performed his first Aquablation procedure at Aspire Marlette Regional Hospital on Dec. 9, 2024, reaching the 100-procedure milestone in less than two years.
Aquablation is an advanced, minimally invasive treatment for men with an enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The procedure uses a waterjet to remove excess prostate tissue while helping preserve surrounding tissue. This advanced technology allows for more precise, consistent, and predictable results with less pain and quicker recovery compared to traditional surgeries.
Reaching 100 procedures reflects the experience developed by the Aspire surgical team in providing the specialized procedure and represents the hospital’s commitment to bringing advanced treatment options to patients in the Thumb.
“This milestone represents much more than a number,” said Kaul. “It reflects the hard work, dedication and collaboration of our surgeons, anesthesia team, nursing staff, surgical technicians and support staff. Together, we have built a program that allows patients to receive advanced treatment close to home.”
The Aquablation program gives area patients another treatment option without requiring them to travel to a larger medical center. For Aspire, the milestone represents both the growth of the program and the opportunity to provide specialized care closer to home.
