Aspire Rural Health System Foundation Hosts Successful Freedom Festival 5K/8K Walk/Run & Toddler Trot in Cass City

July 18, 2025

On Saturday, July 5th, the Aspire Rural Health System Foundation hosted its annual 5K/8K Walk/Run and Toddler Trot during the annual Cass City Freedom Festival, welcoming an astonishing 142 participants to Cass City despite soaring summer temperatures.

Runners and walkers of all ages gathered early in the morning to take part in this exciting community event. Participants came from across the region—and beyond—to support the Aspire Foundation’s mission of improving rural health care services. The event also featured the crowd-favorite Toddler Trot, showcasing some of the youngest and most enthusiastic racers of the day.

“This event is always a highlight for our foundation, and this year was no exception,” said Stephanie Langenburg, Director of the Aspire Rural Health System Foundation. “The energy, community spirit, and dedication we saw—especially in the heat—was truly inspiring.”

In addition to the strong community turnout, many Aspire staff members joined the event as runners, walkers, and volunteers, further demonstrating their commitment to the health and well-being of the communities they serve.

The Foundation extends sincere gratitude to the event sponsors, whose support made the event possible and helped ensure every detail—from water stations to race timing—ran smoothly.
