Aspire Supports Local Health Careers Education with $2,500 Donation

April 24, 2025

Aspire Rural Health System is proud to announce a $2,500 donation to the Sanilac County Health Occupations Program, supporting the purchase of a bariatric nursing manikin for the Health Occupations Lab at the Sanilac Career Center.

The new manikin represents a 350-pound male patient and is designed to provide students with realistic, hands-on training in caring for bariatric individuals. This valuable educational tool will help both high school and adult learners gain confidence and competence in essential skills such as range of motion exercises, perineal care, and safe patient transfers and lifting techniques.

“Aspire Rural Health System is deeply committed to supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals,” said Jenna Muxlow, VP of Development and Outreach, “and we’re honored to contribute to this important program that prepares students for real-world healthcare challenges.”

This donation reflects Aspire’s ongoing partnership with the Sanilac Career Center and its dedication to building a strong, skilled healthcare workforce across the Thumb region.

“We greatly appreciate our continued partnership with the Sanilac Career Center and look forward to working with you and your students for years to come,” said Breanne Moravick, Aspire Marlette’s Director of Nursing.
